今晚同友人食飯，傾起一些事情，我先恍然大悟我要點樣思考落去，Tobin Sibers提出identity politics個一套。
Tobin Sibers的identity politics聚焦於minority groups如何依靠政治力量成為有話語權的群體，是一個弱勢人群成為power的過程。
我思考到，社會討論民主常有提及的，新力量成為主導群體後，如何再次成為了另一種舊有體制的權力形式。
Intersectionality係每個人都應該要意識到嘅事情。特權係來自我對對方嘅關心，對方先能夠享有特權。但係特權唔代表一個群體能夠方方面面完完全全overpower另一個群體，因為大家都有多元交織嘅身份。如果係identify到自己各種多元嘅belonging，大家係應該要關心同理解各種多元嘅群體。
呢個世界無異類，只有diversity，因為每個人都有異類嘅特質，我領悟到的是這個。
個人層面的特權，涉及到intersectionality，所以意識到自己的特權，不是為了令自己充斥滿滿的罪惡感。而是意識到自己的政治力量應該得到 – 橫向的托展 -，從以可以做到我們的care work。☺️ 我想是這樣的。
I had dinner with my friend and realised how I should extend on Tobin Sibers’ identity politics theory.
Tobin Sibers’ theory on identity politics focus on how minority groups gain the right to speak through political power. It is a process about a group of marginalised bodies becoming power.
I ponder on the discussion that society brings up regarding democracy, about new powers becoming the leading groups, then again turning into another power form of the traditional system.
Intersectionality is something that everyone should be aware of. Privilege comes from your care for me, and that’s how I am entitled with privilege. But privilege does not mean a group can totally overpower another group in all aspects. If one recognises one’s diversified identities or various senses of belonging, one should, we should give concern and understanding to different kinds of diverse groups.
There is no “black sheep in the family”. There is only diversity, because everyone embodies heterogeneity. This is what I have learnt.
On an individual level of privilege, it involves intersectionality, hence realising one’s privileges, is not to feel guilt-ridden. One should realise instead, that one’s political power should be extended – horizontally -, in order to get our care work rolling. ☺️ This is what I think.
